Walking

Scotland is an incredible place for walking in all seasons, and the Cairngorms are particularly spectacular. There are miles of waymarked trails ranging from short forest walks to long-distance routes such as the Speyside Way, as well as wilder routes through remote mountain terrain including the Lairig Ghru (to Braemar). Of the 282 Munros in Scotland, over 50 are within the Cairngorms National Park, including one of our favourite walks up Sgor Gaoithe from Glen Feshie. In the winter you may see mountain hares or ptarmigan in their white camouflage, and ospreys are often heard and seen in the summer months. You can walk your dog straight from Aonach and on off-road routes towards Kingussie, Aviemore or into Glen Tromie or Feshie and beyond.
